KUNDALINI YOGA

HISTORY

In 1968, Yogi Bhajan, traveled from India to Canada and then to the United States in order to bring a powerful form of yoga to the many people experimenting with mind altering substances. He realized the western culture did not have a resource for the people looking to expand their consciousness. This once secret form of yoga was only taught to royalty and passed down from teacher to disciple for thousands of years. The yogi’s feared this technology was too powerful for the common man so it remained within the secret society of elites. However, Yogi Bhajan, changed the course of history by defying tradition and ushered in a new era of spirituality which proved to be invaluable to the many souls whose life’s would be forever changed. Since then, Kundalini Yoga has gained wide spread popularity and is practiced by thousands of people looking to raise their consciousness to an exalted level including celebrities such as Jennifer Anniston, Madonna, and Robert Downey Jr.

 

ABOUT

Kundalini Yoga is crowned the “yoga of awareness” for its ability to raise the Kundalini energy that lays dormant at the base of the spine. All forms of yoga are meant to awaken this transformational energy and raise your consciousness, but only through Kundalini Yoga are you able to do this at an exponential pace compared to the other twenty-two forms of yoga. This energy when awakened will bring awareness to you physically, emotionally, and environmentally. It allows you to see facets of yourself and life that is a detriment to achieving your highest potential and gives you the intuition to choose what is best for you and your future self. In addition, Kundalini yoga allows us to release bad habits, heal past trauma, and also bring more self-love into your life.  With the utilization of our breath, movement, and chanting mantras (sacred text) we bring balance and strength to our glandular and nervous systems, expand our lung capacity, and purify our blood.

In our initial session there will be a short assessment of your current physical and emotional state so we can create a practice tailored to your specific needs and goals.
